Year 5&6 play basketball on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, Term 2 and 3, at Pioneer.
I will be calling for trials around week 6 of Term 1 but in the meantime if you want to sharpen up your skills check out the information of the Pacers league below. If you want to trial out for representative teams for the South Island tournament, also refer below. These are individual entry.

After a very successful competition in Term 4, Pioneer Basketball Club is pleased to announce that the PACERS Competition is back for Term 1, 2017!!
Games start on Friday 17 Feb and will run for 4 weeks in Term 1, each week the teams will go through a 20 minute skills session and also play in a game.
This is ideal for your players the chance to get some game time in ahead of basketball starting in Term 2. .
The Pacers league takes individual entries from players so please share with all your Y5/6 & 7/8 players who have played a term of Miniball or Basketball.

The last thing I wanted to mention here is the SIPT (South Island Primary Tournament) or 'Rangiora Tournament held by the North Canty Bball Association which takes place During the first school holidays (22-24 April). Last year we sent 6 teams away to this tournament, 4 'A'-grade teams and 2 'Development' teams.
We will be holding trials for these team March 26. Trial times will be announced closer to the time but keep this date handy.
